What: A Masquerade Night

When: 6 December, 2017

Where: KONG Art Space, Hong Kong

#legend is proud to have been the media sponsor for the Children’s Medical Foundation’s first-ever charity fundraiser of its kind, A Masquerade Night, and to report that the night was a roaring success. Held in the trendy, warehouse-like KONG Art Space in SoHo, the themed evening boasted a silent auction, boutique Scottish whiskey tastings by Whiskies & More, wines by Pont Des Arts (which feature works of master painters Yue Minjun, Zao Wou-ki and Miquel Barceló on the labels) and live musical and artistic performances. Hong Kong-based artist Peter Yuill improvised a beautiful geometric work throughout the evening, while painter and body artist Michael Lam adorned guests with bespoke masks inspired by illusion to the tracks of DJ Miss Yellow and The Anello, who performed throughout the evening.

The city’s brightest stars turned out to support, including Ryan Hui, Ana R, Angie Ng, Rosanne Wong, Emily Lam Ho, DJ Miss Yellow, The Anello and Timothy T. Wong, just to name a few, and were well-fed by chef May Chow and her Little Bao team. Despite the jovial atmosphere, everyone was there to support the amazing work done by the Children’s Medical Foundation, and the evening raised HK$66,800.

These funds will go directly into their work, providing neonatal care in China and the developing world. To date, the Children’s Medical Foundation has performed 973 life-saving surgeries, educated 14,235 at-risk youth about HIV/AIDS prevention, trained 3,374 rural doctors and nurses in paediatric care, transported 815 babies to safety, rescued 326 babies through financial assistance and established 29 neonatal intensive care units in partnership with Chinese hospitals. They treat 24,000 babies a year, which is more than infants per hour. The funds raised this week will allow them to continue their life-saving work.
