Wynn Macau blends luxury tourism and automotive excellence with hypercar exhibition
Aug 06, 2024
Wynn Resorts has unveiled its latest spectacle in Macau: the “Wynn Signature – 2024 Hypercar Exhibition.” This unprecedented display, running through October 13, showcases 30 of the world’s most coveted hypercars, collectively valued at a staggering HK$1.5 billion
The exhibition, hosted at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace, offers visitors a rare glimpse into the pinnacle of automotive engineering. From the track-focused Pagani Huayra R to the limited-edition Aston Martin V12 Speedster, the collection represents the cream of hypercar royalty. Notably, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, one of only nine in existence, stands as a testament to the exhibition’s exclusivity.
Linda Chen, President of Wynn Macau, Limited, emphasised the exhibition’s role in elevating Macau’s international profile. “This event exemplifies our commitment to showcasing Macau’s unique positioning to a global audience,” she stated.
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has thrown its weight behind the exhibition, viewing it as a strategic move to diversify the city’s tourism offerings. Cheng Wai Tong, acting director of MGTO, praised the initiative for injecting “novel elements into Macau’s tourism experience”.
Complementary experiences
Beyond the automotive marvels, the exhibition offers a suite of complementary experiences. A Formula 1 racing car replica, crafted entirely from chocolate and fondant by award-winning pastry chefs, serves as a whimsical centrepiece. The 100-kilogram creation took 360 hours to complete, mirroring the meticulous craftsmanship of the real hypercars on display.
The exhibition is accompanied by special retail promotions and a grand lucky draw. Visitors spending MOP18,000 or more at Wynn’s shops have the chance to win vouchers worth up to MOP30,000, with a grand prize of a race track experience valued at MOP388,888.
Other luxury brands joining in
Luxury watchmakers are also joining the fray. Roger Dubuis is offering a “Reaction Training Light Experience” at its boutiques, while Girard-Perregaux is showcasing its collaboration with Aston Martin through limited-edition timepieces.
This exhibition marks another milestone for Wynn’s “Signature” brand, which has previously hosted events celebrating Chinese wines and luxury timepieces. As Macau positions itself as a “World Center for Tourism and Leisure,” this hypercar showcase exemplifies the city’s evolving identity as a destination where high-octane thrills meet high-end hospitality.
