David Ho gives you the latest dining recommendations in Hong Kong for August 2025
Café Causette

For Indian National Day, Clipper Lounge and Café Causette has a guest chef Gurmeet Singh Bhamra from The Oberoi, Mumbai in town for a special three-day collab (15–17 August) featuring elevated Indian dishes. At Café Causette, Chef Gurmeet will be offering selected highlights for set lunch and dinner options, appetisers such as Paan Patte Ki Chaat, a refreshing and delicious appetiser of fried betel leaves topped with sweet yogurt, dates chutney and mint chutneys.
We tried it out and loved the vegetarian-friendly appetiser available is Dahi Ke Kebah, a fried yogurt and cottage cheese dumpling served with a tangy tomato reduction. For mains, guests can choose from Bater Khas Makhani, an Amritsari style quail cooked in a smoked tomato cashew nut gravy or Kadhi Lobster, lobster tossed with onion, tomatoes and capsicum. A 2-course menu starts at HK$488*, and a 3- course menu starts at HK$588* with coffee, tea or soft drinks.

La Petite Maison (LPM)

LPM has launched new summer creations for both lunch and dinner. We stopped by to try their revamped Déjeuner D’Affaires business lunch menu with Mediterranean-inspired flavours in new appetisers such as the Cherry Tomato Salad with Goat Cheese Mousse as well as the Salmon Carpaccio with Pink Grapefruit Jelly and Pickled Daikon.
The lunch menu introduces three sophisticated main courses: Orzo Pasta with Burrata and Tomato offering creamy comfort, Marinated Lamb Cutlets with Olive, Aubergine Caviar and Pine Nuts combining bold flavours, and Pan-Fried Bream Fillet with Apple Remoulade providing a light seafood option. A summery Sugar Snap side dish and the tropical Exotic Tarte with Whipped Coconut Ganachecomplete this refined offering. There are two options to cater to different appetites: the two-course Le Petit Menu (HK$398) and three-course Le Grand Menu (HK$498).

A Smoking Affair

Street-style hotpot hotspot A Smoking Affair has introduced a refreshed menu that highlights seasonal ingredients and innovative recipes. With nine compelling soup bases, you know you are set for a sensational dining experience. If you are a fan of all things hot and spicy, we recommend the Chongqing Spicy Broth (HK$228) crafted by famed Sichuan master chef Hu Taiqing of sister restaurant Sichuan Rougenext door for an explosion of numbing mala tastes. Otherwise, the the flavourful Signature Satay Broth (HK$168) with a classic Chiu Chow twist is a crowd pleaser and the ideal complement to premium cuts of beef.

Vesu Pizza Bar

Vesu has a brand-new bar program called Sip Happens that melds Neapolitan tradition with Hong Kong street flavours. We simply adore the homage to pineapple buns in the Bo Lo Bao mocktail (HK$98), which combines pineapple soda, butter foam, and coconut water for a buttery yet fizzy flavour. But if you want a cha chaan teng creation with some alcohol, then the Yuen Yeung (HK$138, ABV:11.4%) might be the one for you. This spiked version of Hong Kong’s classic coffee and milk tea comes with Mr. Black coffee liqueur, three types of tea, evaporated milk, and milk clarification.
Don’t worry, it’s not just drinks that worth the trip here. We enjoyed the pizzas and they serve everything from the classics to some special creations.
