Hong Kong has just experienced its most deadly city fire, with 128 confirmed deceased on day three and hundreds still missing as of press time. Over 750 firefighters were deployed to Tai Po estate, where a blaze razed through seven buildings.

How to help

Volunteer

*Please note the Tai Po area is busy. So avoid doing walk ins. Please check in before heading over to avoid adding to the traffic. Remember that volunteers will be needed for awhile, so keep checking in. It’s a marathon of effort, not a sprint.*

The Tai Po District Office has set up a help desk at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for assistance and public enquiries. The hotline number is 26584040.

The Kai Tak Community Isolation Facility is also seeking on-site volunteers. Those interested can contact Ms. Lei via WhatsApp at 91630668.

The Women of Hong Kong support network has gathered volunteers to help out with relief efforts and will continue to do so. Please join this WhatsApp group if you are interested in chipping in or visit their Instagram for updates.

The Crossroads Foundation is always seeking volunteers. Tap here to sign up.

Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong is seeking volunteers above 15 years of age to help those affected rebuild their homes and lives. Sign up here.

Pro Bono HK is seeking Hong Kong qualified lawyers to help prepare a set of legal FAQs to address question from the incident. It is expected to cover: tenancy and land laws, employment laws, personal injury laws, and other civil matters. Please join this WhatsApp group to volunteer.
