Rolex celebrates World Oceans Day

Rolex celebrated World Ocean Day over the weekend by highlighting its Rolex Perpetual Planet Initiative which lends its support to a wide range of projects in ocean conservation. The watchmaker’s Ocean Moment highlights those who lead by example in their efforts to better understand what lies at the heart of the Blue Planet: its seas

This time around, Rolex puts the spotlight on its testimonee Sylvia Earle and Mission Blue, who in their attempt try to protect 30 per cent of the world’s seas by 2030.

Coral Gardeners on the other hand are a group of young people in French Polynesia who are restoring the “lungs” of the oceans: coral reefs – while also raising global awareness to their importance.

Last but certainly not least, world-renowned conservation photographers Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen are also part of this extraordinary effort and journey.

Check out their video to remind ourselves of the amazing oceans that are home to over 90 per cent of all living creatures on Earth.
