Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier unveils three new Clifton Baumatic models, blending 1950s heritage with modern precision. The collection, previewed at Watches & Wonders 2025, offers a practical take on vintage elegance for today’s watch enthusiast
Baume & Mercier has a long history. Since 1830, the Swiss house has focused on quality and precision. The new Clifton Baumatic watches continue this approach. Each model draws from the brand’s 1950s roots, when round, slim watches set the standard for understated style.
You see this in the details. The new Clifton case measures 39mm across and 11.22mm thick. This is slimmer than earlier versions. The result is a watch that sits flat on your wrist. The domed sapphire crystal and curved lines echo the past. Arabic numerals at 12 o’clock and longer indexes add clarity.
The Baumatic movement inside is the heart of the watch. It resists magnetic fields up to 1500 Gauss. It runs for five days on a single wind. Water resistance reaches 50 metres. These are practical features for daily use. The movement’s finish is visible through a sapphire case back. You see circular graining, sandblasting, and Geneva stripes. Each watch comes with an eight-year warranty if you register online.
Three models stand out. The M0A10802 uses rose gold and a brown alligator strap. The M0A10778, limited to 350 pieces, features a salmon dial and two calfskin straps. The M0A10771 offers a blue lacquered dial and blue alligator strap. All straps are interchangeable without tools.
