Watches and Wonders 2023: Parmigiani Fleurier's different take on time telling

Mar 29, 2023

At Watches and Wonders 2023 in Geneva, Parmigiani Fleurier has shared some truly special watches that consider time in a special way, be it in mere minutes or through a calendar view

Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante

Last year, the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante was presented to the world as a dual-time travel watch. This time, the new Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante introduced at Watches and Wonders 2023 uses the rattrapante mechanism to measure elapsed time instead.

Owners of the timepiece can use it for any occasion requiring  specific time measurement. It can adjust to the required period in both five and one-minute increments. The timepiece comes in a 40mm stainless steel case with a knurled bezel made from 950 platinum.

Platinum Cultural Calendars

Issued in a strictly limited edition of three box sets, Parmigiani Fleurier presents three timepieces displaying three different calendars: Gregorian, Islamic and Chinese. Platinum is a signature of Parmigiani Fleurier and the trio of watches in these extremely limited sets are made from the Swiss watchmaker’s material of choice.

“The history of watchmaking is closely intertwined with the history of human civilization, reflecting the advances in technology and the changing cultural values of different eras. Therefore, watchmaking is a form of cultural expression, as Calendars are the mirror of civilizations,” says Guido Terreni, the CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier.

“They represent for Parmigiani a mark of multicultural respect, insofar as we want to translate the particularities of a society by creating a watch that integrates all the information allowing us to understand its organization and its history.”
