amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, will honour Victoria Beckham at their second annual fundraising gala in Hong Kong later this March. The British fashion designer will be recognised for her exceptional contributions to the global effort against HIV/AIDS.
This year’s event will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction conducted by Swiss auctioneer Simon de Pury, entertainment, and an after party. amfAR Hong Kong 2016 will be the second time the foundation hosts its flagship fundraising event in Asia. Last year’s inaugural amfAR Hong Kong raised over US$4 million for amfAR’s critical AIDS research programs, hosting distinguished guests including Gwyneth Paltrow, Pansy Ho and David Tang. Last year’s event also honoured Michelle Yeoh and featured Robin Thicke as the evening’s entertainment.
amfAR is one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research and prevention, treatment education, and public policy advocacy. It has also been active in Asia for more than 20 years. Its TREAT Asia program has become a model of regional collaboration between clinics and hospitals, research institutions, and civil society groups on HIV/AIDS treatment delivery across the Asia-Pacific region since its founding in 2001.
amfAR Hong Kong 2016 will be held at Shaw Studios on March 19, 2016. Tickets for the gala event can be procured on the amfAR website (www.amfar.org/hongkong2016).
