Van Cleef & Arpels spreads springtime joy through Landmark installation

The Landmark in Hong Kong is looking more colourful, thanks to Van Cleef & Arpels and French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet. Haley Sengsavanh checks it out

Landmark has been transformed into a brightly-coloured garden, courtesy of Van Cleef & Arpels and French artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet. The installation began on March 20, coinciding with Hong Kong’s Art Month, and ends on April 28. Visitors strolling through the mall will find themselves immersed in Navel’s sketchbook, surrounded by captivating illustrated blooms.

Navet is a multi-disciplinary artist who won the Van Cleef & Arpels’ Grand Prix Design Parade Toulon in 2017. For this collaboration, he was inspired by the luxury jewellery maison’s long history of honouring the beauty of nature. He was particularly drawn to the Frivole collection, which features elegant flowers made of curved heart-shaped petals.

On the collaboration, Navet said, “For me, spring is all about flowers; the refreshing energy the season brings with each blooming of colour and miraculous form. I have played a lot with the vivid and luminous hues that the palettes of Van Cleef & Arpels and this wonderfully lively city of Hong Kong, to create a conversation with the public that is bursting with the joy of Spring.”
