The launch of the Britannic Explorer, the first luxury sleeper train in England and Wales, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of slow travel. Set to commence its journeys in July 2025, this innovative train promises to blend traditional rail heritage with contemporary British gastronomy and culture
Designed by the acclaimed London studio Albion Nord, the interiors of the Britannic Explorer feature a serene aesthetic that reflects the natural beauty of its surroundings. With 18 elegantly appointed cabins, including three Grand Suites, passengers can expect a journey defined by comfort and sophistication. Each cabin offers sweeping views through expansive picture windows, allowing travellers to immerse themselves in the picturesque landscapes of Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales.
Culinary experiences aboard the train will be curated by Simon Rogan, a prominent figure in Britain's farm-to-table movement. His menus will showcase seasonal and sustainable ingredients sourced from local producers, ensuring that each meal is a celebration of British culinary heritage. Guests can also enjoy a selection of innovative cocktails and artisan beverages in the train's botanically-inspired Bar.
Beyond its luxurious amenities, the Britannic Explorer offers exclusive access to some of Britain’s most iconic destinations. Passengers can partake in guided excursions that highlight the rich cultural tapestry and stunning natural beauty of each region. From private tours at renowned galleries to guided hikes in national parks, every journey promises to be both immersive and enlightening.
