An exhibition on Tudor's Black Bay collection has arrived in Hong Kong

Tudor’s reputation as a lesser version of a Rolex can now be officially thrown out the window. The brand has found real success with the launch of its retro-inspired range of timepieces and has three Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève prizes to show for its skill and craftsmanship.

Tudor, who has participated in the highly regarded watch ceremony since 2013, gained its first award in the “Revival” category for its famous Heritage Black Bay model. Last year, Tudor was again rewarded for the Pelages, the brand’s technical diving watch which received the “Sports Watch” prize.

This year, the brand’s vintage-inspired bronze diving watch – the Black Bay Bronze- won the “Petite Aiguille” prize, cementing the Black Bay’s importance in the watchmaking world. The timepiece was first revealed at Baselworld 2016.

The Heritage Black Bay Bronze inherits the general lines, as well as the domed dial and crystal of the very first Tudor diving watches. The Big Crown, a prominent winding crown from the famous 7924 reference of 1958, is also featured on the new version.

Marine-grade aluminium bronze is chosen for the watch, an aesthetic reference to the use of bronze in historic ships and other diving equipment. 43 mm in diameter, the watch is powered by Tudor manufacture calibre MT5601.

An exhibition will be held for the first time in Hong Kong to showcase the extraordinary history of the Black Bay. On display will be the award-winning Black Bay Bronze, as well as the newly released Black Bay Dark and the Black Bay, all equipped with an in-house movement, along with the all new Black Bay 36 mm.

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Exhibition runs from November 24 to 27 from 10 am to 10 pm at the Ocean Terminal Main Concourse at Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui.
