The Hari Art Prize 2025: $100K cash prize and hotel stay with dining experience for winning artists
Feb 17, 2025
The Hari Art Prize returns for its second year, celebrating Hong Kong’s artistic talent. Organised by The Hari Hong Kong in partnership with A Space For Art, the initiative highlights the city’s creative diversity

This year, 19 artists have been shortlisted from over 600 applicants. The competition was open to self-taught artists and recent graduates within the first decade of their careers. Entrants were required to be based in Hong Kong, with no restrictions on genre or medium.
The winners will be announced on March 13, 2025, at a ceremony hosted at The Hari Hong Kong. A showcase of the shortlisted works will accompany the event.
The top prize includes HK$100,000, donated by Dr Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels. The first and second runners-up will each receive a two-day stay at The Hari, complete with dining experiences at its restaurants, Lucciola and Zoku.

Dr Harilela shared his enthusiasm: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for local talents to showcase their work and, at the same time, exemplifies the hotel’s spirit as a vibrant hub for art and culture which has always been important to The Hari brand. As part of the judging panel, I am eager to see the incredible talent this year will bring.”
In addition to Dr Harilela, the judging panel features prominent figures such as Charlie Smedley of A Space For Art, Frankie Ho from Taschen, Amanda Hon of Ben Brown Fine Arts and independent curator Anqi Li.

The Hari Art Prize underscores the hotel’s commitment to supporting local culture. It also serves as a platform for emerging artists to gain recognition and share their work with broader audiences.

This event is one to watch for art enthusiasts and supporters of local talent and more information can be found here.
