Awards, outfits, celebrity drama – the Grammy’s are always a highlight, both visually and musically. And with the return to Los Angeles this year once again brought fashion spectacles
Returning for host duties for the sixth and final time, comedian Trevor Noah wore a black tuxedo. Reflecting the earlier 2025 Super Bowl Celine flares craze, high hopes were out for Kendrick Lamar both sartorially and sonically – leading the pack with nine nominations. Next was style icon Lady Gaga with seven nods, followed by Bad Bunny and Tyler, the Creator with six each.
This years’ red carpet wasn’t just the location of fashion statements, but also political ones. Artists ranging from pop stars of Song of the Year winner Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber to folk legend Joni Mitchell wore pins reading “ICE OUT”, condemning controversies. Acceptance speeches saw the same heartfelt call for justice in today’s political environment.
As a major reference point for this years’ fashion trends, here’s our pick of the best looks at the 68th edition’s main ceremony.
Teyana Taylor

Nominated for the first time since her debut 18 years ago, Taylor showed out in custom Tom Ford. Woven out of gold chainmail, the dress’s asymmetrical cut allows it to rest on her left side without using straps or closures.
Chappel Roan

Ever flamboyantly camp, Roan chose a bodice-less chiffon dress from Mugler. Going topless, she combined her gown with a matching cape and temporary tattoos for a look that was both intensely provocative yet romantically subdued.
FKA Twigs

This year’s winner of Best Dance/Electronic Album for EUSEXUA, FKA Twigs wore a custom look by Welsh designer Paolo Carzana. Stiletto pumps, floral-embroidered fishnets and a low-cut rough-edged dress evoked an aesthetic of a natural, fantastical empowerment.
Kesha

Opposite of FKA Twigs’ maximalist footwear choices, Kesha went barefoot in an Atelier Biser feathered gown. A statement of female freedom and record-label independence, her outfit featured emphasized contours and a dramatic, overflowing train.
Jon Batiste

The biggest supporter of sequins, sparkles and shine in menswear, Jon Batiste chose a beaded Napoleon-style jacket, decorated by golden shoulderpads and blue, pink and grey embellishments.
Lady Gaga

Mother Monster’s style has always been ultra avant-garde – and this year is no different. Choosing a couture style of Matières Fécales, also known as Fecal Matter, black raven feathers spiral across her body, flaring out into an angular collar and exaggerated tulle train.
Kelsea Ballerini

Country music artists don’t just wear denim shorts and flannels, as proven by Ballerini, styled in a halter dress woven from sequin-embroidered tulle in emerald green and copper brown. A collared neckline exposing the shoulders drew an eye-catching symmetrical contrast to the organic patterns of the gown.
Audrey Nuna

The K-Pop Demon Hunters star chose Thom Browne, wearing a deconstructed oversized blazer with a pleated skirt. Modelled after the national flower of South Korea, the look was both a symbol of resilience but also a personal homage to Nuna’s background – her father’s factory serving as one of Browne’s manufacturers in the past.
Joni Mitchell

The winner of Best Historical Album, the folk music legend wore an embellished pantsuit in gold, silver and black gradients. With a dog-pomelled walking cane to match, Mitchell continued the night’s theme of sequins and glitter.
