As 2026 moves forward, the film calendar is dominated by familiar names with renewed stakes. From superhero resets and long-awaited sequels to prestige epics and major franchise chapters, studios are leaning into legacy-driven storytelling. Below, we’ve gathered 10 titles arriving in the months ahead, each set to headline cinemas and define the rest of the year
The Mummy (April 17)
Directed by Evil Dead Rise filmmaker Lee Cronin, this new reboot of The Mummy brings the franchise back to its horror roots. The story follows a journalist whose young daughter, Katie, disappears in the desert and reappears eight years later, changed by something ancient and unsettling. This time, the focus shifts away from spectacle and toward psychological tension and supernatural mystery.
Michael (April 24)
Starring Jaafar Jackson, nephew of Michael Jackson, this biopic traces the King of Pop’s journey from his early days with the Jackson 5 to worldwide superstardom. The film blends large-scale recreations of iconic performances with more intimate moments behind the scenes, capturing both the scale of his fame and the complexity of his legacy.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1)
Nearly two decades later, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return as Runway faces the decline of traditional publishing. Miranda Priestly must navigate a shrinking print world, while Emily Charlton, now a powerful luxury executive, controls key advertising revenue. As Andy Sachs steps back into the picture, old relationships are tested in a fashion industry reshaped by digital media.
The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22)
Pedro Pascal reprises his role as Din Djarin in this big-screen continuation of the Disney+ series. Set after Season 3, the New Republic recruits Din and Grogu to take on the remaining Imperial warlords. Expanding the scale beyond the show’s episodic format, the film follows their journey across a galaxy still recovering from the Empire’s fall.
Toy Story 5 (July 17)
After the emotional farewell of Toy Story 4, Pixar returns to Woody, Buzz and the gang once again. This time, the toys must adjust to a generation of children growing up surrounded by screens and technology. As digital devices compete for attention, they search for new meaning and purpose in a changing world.
Supergirl (July 31)
Part of the new DC Universe overseen by James Gunn, Supergirl focuses on Kara Zor-El’s journey beyond Earth. Unlike Superman’s hopeful upbringing, Kara’s past on Krypton was far harsher. The film explores how that experience shapes her into a stronger, more battle-tested hero as she faces cosmic threats.
The Odyssey (July 17)
Directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya and so on, the film brings Homer’s epic to the big screen. It follows Odysseus’ long and dangerous journey home after the Trojan War, as he faces mythical creatures, divine forces and years of hardship before reaching Ithaca.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31)
With Tom Holland returning, the film picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the world forgets Peter Parker’s identity. Now living independently and without the support of former allies, Peter faces more grounded, street-level threats while rebuilding his life from scratch.
Avengers: Doomsday (December 18)
Another Marvel entry on this list, Avengers: Doomsday is positioned as a major Phase Six event, reuniting familiar heroes and multiverse variants for a large-scale showdown. With Robert Downey Jr. appearing as Doctor Doom and Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers, the story builds toward a climactic confrontation designed to close the multiverse saga and set a new direction for the MCU.
Dune: Part Three (December 18)

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothée Chalamet, the third installment continues Paul Atreides’ story 12 years after he becomes Emperor. As unrest spreads across the galaxy, Paul must confront the consequences of his rise to power and the weight of prophecy, shifting the focus from triumph to responsibility. Notably, it is currently set to release on the same day as Avengers: Doomsday, setting up one of 2026’s biggest box office clashes.
