“…For a long time, I’ve been working on expanding people’s perception of how fashion and art can be symbiotic. This is the natural next step for me to really show what I mean. Even though we call one practice ‘Haute Couture’ and the other ‘art,’ to me, it’s one universe, said Iris Van Herpen…”

Many times, the world of fashion and art have seamlessly merged into one, and this occasion has no different. When the avant-garde fashion brand that consistently astounds the realm of fashion like Iris Van Herpen transformed a traditional haute couture fashion show, typically showcased on a runway, into an art exhibition named 'Hybrid Show' Featuring a total of nine pieces, including the Fall/Winter haute couture collection of five dresses suspended within an art installation at the museum, along with four others at Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France, during the recent fashion week.

Five haute couture dresses in the collection were all crafted using the house's distinctive and advanced techniques, whether it's 3D printing or the delicate draping of silk to create a flowing effect. Additionally, new techniques were introduced in this instance, such as lightly embossed patterns that reflect the soft curves of art, used to create garments that are both exquisite and delicate, appearing to float in the air.

This collection was conveyed through a performance art known as 'Aerial Sculpture' or kinetic art. The evening gowns were suspended, with models gracefully moving for 45 minutes. Supermodel Coco Rocha also participated, showcasing the beauty of the haute couture dress.
