Oris had both serious and playful novelties to share at Watches and Wonders 2023
ProPilot X Kermit edition
Oris and Disney’s The Muppets Kermit the Frog meet on a special edition of the ProPilot X Calibre 400. The 39mm titanium case features a frog green dial with a date window at the 6 o’clock position. On the first of every month, it will be filled with a Kermit the Frog emoji for a fun and quirky start to the month.
ProPilot Altimeter
With its new ProPilot Altimeter, Oris claims to have made the world’s only watch to combine a mechanical altimeter with an automatic mechanical movement. With a new pressure box, it can now gauge altitude up to 6,000 metres or 19,700 feet.
Powered by the Calibre 793, the new model has a bigger 56-hour power reserve and is 1mm thinner. It is also much lighter at just 98 grammes, a drop of 70 on the previous model. This is due to the case being made of a new carbon fibre and polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) composite Oris has brought into watchmaking for the first time.
