"...One of the major surprises in the fashion industry this year, when Alessandro Michele unveiled his debut collection after taking over the reins of the Valentino empire as Creative Director. Featuring over 171 looks, the Resort 2025 collection, named 'Avant les débuts', was showcased on the last day of Milan Men's Fashion Week..."

This collection is infused with the aesthetic of 1970s fashion. Each piece draws inspiration from a blend of the maison's archive, such as Garavani's 1968 Sfilata Bianca collection with Michele's signature elements like various patterns such as houndstooth, vibrant leopard prints, floral embroideries, the use of fur that reflect Michele's maximalist aesthetic, as well as the combination of femininity and masculinity. Resulting in a distinctive collection in Alessandro Michele's unique kind of style.

Furthermore, Michele's distinctive maximalist style is also conveyed through accessories, whether it's layering pearl necklaces and buckles to add eye-catching accents, gloves that exude a sense of sophistication. Michele also emphasises the DNA of maison through bags crafted from various materials adorned with the iconic V-logo, a signature of the brand.

After the 'Avant les débuts' collection was unveiled, it received enthusiastic acclaim within the fashion industry overnight, also portraying the  clearer direction of Valentino's new era.
