"...When discussing hotels or resorts that embody the captivating essence of traditional Thai charm, The Sukhothai Bangkok is often one of the first names that come to mind. Nestled in the vibrant Sathorn district, this iconic hotel seamlessly blends heritage, wisdom, and Thai culture with contemporary sophistication, creating an exquisite balance that has earned it widespread international acclaim..."
Recently, the brand unveiled its latest addition to luxury relaxation: The Sukhothai Spa. Designed as a sanctuary for genuine rejuvenation, this new spa destination beautifully merges Thailand’s rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge wellness practices. Rooted in the philosophy of the name “Sukhothai,” meaning dawn of happiness, the spa offers a transcendent journey into unparalleled relaxation where nature, tranquillity, and innovation intertwine seamlessly.
The inspiration for The Sukhothai Spa was conceived by Alexander Schillinger, General Manager of The Sukhothai Bangkok. Envisioning the untapped potential of the hotel's verdant gardens spanning over 7,000 square metres, Schillinger sought to create a serene retreat that reconnects visitors with nature. This concept was brought to life through collaborations with leading architects and designers, culminating in a main spa structure that offers uninterrupted views of lush greenery. Complementing this is a traditional Thai pavilion, a testament to the enduring beauty of Thai culture and architecture. The pavilion's design draws inspiration from the historical Wat Sri Chum in Sukhothai, incorporating intricate details that celebrate the timeless elegance of Thai heritage.
Every corner of The Sukhothai Spa reflects meticulous attention to detail. Among its standout features is the Presidential Hammam, an opulent space adorned with natural green stone and terracotta mosaic tiles, evoking a serene connection to the earth. The double-height ceilings, inspired by the grandeur of Wat Sri Chum, enhance the sense of spaciousness and tranquillity. This exceptional facility has been crafted to deliver bespoke bathing rituals, drawing upon ancient Middle Eastern and North African traditions.
The second-floor treatment rooms are equally remarkable, showcasing the understated elegance of traditional Thai architecture. With intricately patterned walls, soaring ceilings, and gently curved forms, the rooms exude a calming charm. Each room also boasts a private jacuzzi, crafted with green terrazzo and light-hued mosaic tiles, offering guests a refined setting for relaxation.
Beyond these two signature spaces, The Sukhothai Spa provides an array of premium wellness services, including soothing massages, beauty treatments, yoga, Pilates, and meditation. Guests can also enjoy modern amenities such as a saltwater swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and state-of-the-art facial treatment suites.
Elevating the spa experience further is the use of world-class products. The spa features renowned international brands such as Biologique Recherche and Bastien Gonzalez from France, Kerstin Florian from the United States, and Thailand’s very own Moringa Project. These premium products ensure exceptional results and unparalleled satisfaction. Furthermore, the spa has partnered with Miskawaan to introduce IV therapies and advanced anti-ageing treatments, set to launch in the third quarter.
