Some may not be familiar with the name Gio Ponti, he is indeed one of the renowned Italian architects and designers. He gained prominence when Anala and Armando Planchart commissioned him to design a luxurious villa in 1953 atop the highest hill overlooking Caracas, Venezuela, providing breathtaking views of the city. Today, Villa Planchart, through the eyes of Gio Ponti, stands as a legendary architectural masterpiece that has stood the test of time alongside the nation of Venezuela.

Furthermore, for the interior decoration details of Villa Planchart, there was a collaboration with Ginori 1735, a prestigious French manufacturer. They previously held the position of artistic director, bringing their expertise to design a set of exquisite tableware adorned with symbols and patterns inspired by the villa, including the letter “A” designed as a mark of respect to Anala and Armando Planchart, the villa’s owners.

Taking inspiration from this intriguing story, Saint Laurent Rive Droite presents the Villa Planchart Segnaposto collection. Offering a set of 12 exquisite plates, each meticulously designed based on Gio Ponti’s original work from 1957. Every piece retains the essence of the original design, intricately adorned with the villa’s iconic symbols. Moreover, they are meticulously hand-drawn and painted by skilled artisans from Ginori 1735, further enhancing their renowned reputation.

This exclusive collection is available for the public on YSL.COM and at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite boutiques in Los Angeles as well as Saint Laurent Babylone in Paris. Additionally, it will be distributed during specified times in Milan, with interested individuals required to schedule appointments at the Saint Laurent flagship store on Via Montenapoleone during the Milan Design Week.

Lastly, for those seeking to experience the extraordinary story of Gio Ponti and Villa Planchart, a remarkable exhibition titled “Gio Ponti – Villa Planchart” is open to everyone at Chiostri Di San Simpliciano in Milan, Italy, from April 16th to April 21st.
