“…Rosewood Hotels proudly announces its partnership with Philip Huang to bring forth a vision that reimagines traditional craftsmanship through a contemporary lens. This collaboration celebrates the concept of The Future of Tradition, a harmonious fusion of sustainability, refined artistry, and timeless luxury…”

The partnership between these two esteemed brands began in 2020 with the Future of Tradition initiative at Rosewood Phuket, featuring a natural indigo-dyeing workshop set amidst the tranquil gardens of Philip Huang’s studio in Bangkok. In 2021, this relationship was taken to new heights when Philip Huang was named a Rosewood Placemaker, embodying the brand’s iconic A Sense of Place philosophy. Fast forward to 2024, and the collaboration continues to thrive, blending traditional heritage with innovative modernity in a seamless and inspired manner.

This year’s partnership is elevated with a series of inspiring events, bringing fresh dimensions to the synergy between Philip Huang and Rosewood Hotels. Launching this December at Thara House within Rosewood Bangkok, the pop-up will showcase Philip Huang’s Holiday 2024 collection. Additionally, guests will be given an exclusive preview of the Mirage Spring/Summer 2025 collection, first revealed during Paris Fashion Week, making it an unmissable occasion for lovers of contemporary design and artisanal fashion.

A highlight of the year is a unique dinner hosted at Ta Khai, Rosewood Phuket’s signature restaurant. This extraordinary evening brings together Chef Antto Melasniemi and renowned artist Rirkrit Tiravanija for a creative collaboration titled Bastard Cooking. This immersive dining experience draws inspiration from seasonal ingredients and ancient culinary traditions, merging influences from Southern Thailand, Island Asia, and the Finnish archipelago. The result is a captivating exploration of evolving food heritage and innovative gastronomy. Another standout activity is the hands-on indigo-dyeing workshops led by Philip Huang. Open to participants of all ages, these workshops offer a rare opportunity to engage with a 6,000-year-old craft tradition, exploring its transformative power and modern-day applications in design.

The collaboration between Philip Huang and Rosewood Hotels is set to expand internationally in 2025, with its first global activation at Rosewood Munich in May. This exclusive event will further exemplify the shared commitment of both brands to promoting artisanal craftsmanship, sustainability, and forward-thinking luxury.
