“...Applying perfume isn’t simply a matter of spraying it in any manner, as there are techniques to make the most of its captivating essence. Today, #legend_th introduces you to expert tips on perfume application from Borom Vichayadecha, a true aficionado with a long-standing passion for fragrances. Over more than half a decade, he has immersed himself in discovering the hidden secrets behind alluring scents. This profound passion eventually led him to develop his own line of perfumes that reflect his unique identity, resulting in “Borom,” a distinguished Thai perfume brand that’s capturing attention today…”
Borom explains that perfume comes in various concentration levels, including Cologne, Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum, Parfum, and Extrait de Parfum. Some brands even have further distinctions within these categories. However, it is important to understand that the concentration level does not necessarily determine how long the fragrance lasts or how strong it is. The structure of the scent plays a key role.
He further clarifies that it’s the molecular weight of the scent components that influences both longevity and intensity. For instance, woody or spicy scents, which have heavier molecules, tend to last longer and project more intensely than lighter notes like florals or citrus. Therefore, when choosing a perfume for its longevity, it's not just the concentration that matters but also the composition and structure of the fragrance.
Tips for Applying Perfume for Maximum Effectiveness:
- Maintain the proper distance when spraying : Aim for about half a foot away from the target area. Spraying too close, especially on clothes, can lead to stains. Fabrics such as silk and linen should be avoided, as they are more prone to damage from direct perfume application.
- Use at least four sprays : If the perfume has a strong scent, spray it in areas further from your nose, such as the waist or behind the knees. Applying perfume on pulse points, such as the wrists or neck, helps the fragrance diffuse better due to body heat. For longer-lasting scent, spraying on clothes is a good option, as fabric can hold perfume for longer than skin.
- Combine techniques: For the best results, you can apply perfume on both the skin and clothes. This method ensures that the fragrance not only diffuses well but also lasts longer.
Additionally, if you're sensitive to alcohol-based perfumes, opting for a Water base perfume can be an excellent alternative. These perfumes are gentler on the skin and still provide a delightful scent without causing irritation, making them a great choice for those prone to sensitivity from alcohol-based fragrances.
