Penfolds elevates wine enthusiasts with exclusive TRANSCEND BY PENFOLDS event

When discussing House Style wines, known for their distinctive character and unparalleled quality, Penfolds is undoubtedly one of the top choices for many. Since 1844, the brand has been committed to crafting premium wines with a dedication that begins with sourcing the finest grape varieties and continues through the development of cutting-edge techniques to perfect the art of winemaking. Each bottle is crafted to meet the brand's strict standards, resulting in an output that is consistently recognised on the global stage for its exceptional quality, elegance, and uniquely impressive character.

Yet, the allure of Penfolds extends far beyond the exceptional quality of its flagship House Style wines. The brand is also renowned for offering ‘exclusive experiences’ that have built its long-standing reputation. Penfolds is now poised to carry on this legacy through its latest project, TRANSCEND BY PENFOLDS. This special campaign offers wine aficionados a 90-minute, immersive journey to indulge in a full-scale wine-tasting experience, held from 5th to 10th November at Gaysorn Amarin, Bangkok.

The event promises a sensory feast, not only through its visual and auditory elements but also through its tasting offerings, as eight prestigious wines from the Luxury & Icons collection await wine enthusiasts, each accompanied by detailed information and tasting notes narrated by Steph Dutton, Country of Origin Group senior winemaker The ambiance will be enhanced by a soundscape from Australian artist Jake Meadows, harmoniously paired with immersive visual interpretations of each wine created by Entropico Creative and Babekuhl.

Guests will be artfully guided through each wine, beginning with a distinguished French offering born from a collaboration with Dourthe Bordeaux, one of the most esteemed wine producers in the region. This precious selection serves as a meaningful return to France, a land that remains a vital source of inspiration for Max Schubert, Penfolds’ first Chief Winemaker, in his creation of the iconic Grange.

The experience continues with a wine from the United States, marking over two decades of endeavour through Bin 149 ‘Wine of the World’ Cabernet Sauvignon. This unique blend of Napa Valley and South Australian grapes tells the story of two hemispheres coming together in perfect harmony, a testament to Penfolds pursuit of excellence and serving as a standout feature of Penfolds’ international legacy.

The tasting will culminate with Grange, the pinnacle of Australian shiraz. The experience is set to begin with the Grange Palate Cleanser, a Penfolds x Thiénot Rosé Champagne Sorbet curated by Magill Estate Restaurant in collaboration with Peter Gago, Penfolds' Chief Winemaker. This pairing prepares the palate for the sophisticated and intricate flavours that have long established Grange’s reputation as one of the world’s most celebrated wines.

What makes this event even more exciting is the debut of the Penfolds Champagne Cuvée Brut in Bangkok, following its grand premiere at Hôtel de Crillon in Paris in February 2024. Alongside the reveal of the refreshed Penfolds Champagne Rosé Brut. These launches coincide with the celebration of Penfolds’ 180th anniversary.

The Champagne Cuvée Brut is crafted from meticulously selected grapes from the prestigious Champagne region, composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. Guests at the event will have the chance to savour this exquisite champagne, priced at THB 450 per glass, and the Champagne Rosé Brut at THB 500 per glass.

Tickets for Transcend by Penfolds Bangkok are available now via Ticket Melon, with Standard Admission priced at THB 1,888 and Signature Admission at THB 3,288. The Signature package includes a bottle of Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz, often referred to as ‘Baby Grange’ due to its maturation in the same barrels used for Penfolds' legendary Grange.
