The first look on the runway did not spark the initial impression of this show but began with the choice of venue. Issey Miyake selected the Mobilier National building, which houses the organisation responsible for collecting and preserving furniture and decorative pieces of France and decorating various national buildings. This unique venue was transformed into a runway for the show, decorated simply yet elegantly with white standing fans arranged in a straight line.
Another impressive aspect that cannot be overlooked is the opening performance by two performers dressed in grey pleated outfits from the brand. One was a Western woman, while the other exuded a distinct Asian charm. Although the performance lasted only a few minutes, it served as a captivating and unique introduction to the show.
Regarding the looks on the runway, it is well-known that each show crafted through the lens of Issey Miyake often incorporates natural movement. This time, the brand continued to emphasise this speciality, but with more striking patterns and designs, such as the Windswept Plaid pattern. A variety of pleated fabrics, both large and small, featured innovative dyeing techniques and traditional colour tones, perfectly maintaining its charm and impressing the audience.
The outerwear silhouettes, featuring vibrant-coloured hoodies and Japanese-blended jackets, also garnered significant attention from the attendees. Despite being fewer in number compared to the overall collection, these pieces left a lasting impression during the 15-minute showcase at this prestigious venue.
Therefore, #Legend_th can confidently state that this Issey Miyake show was a perfect combination of innovative fashion, creativity, understated elegance, and the charm of Japanese culture, all marvellously presented in every dimension.
