“…It was the launch of the year that everyone’s talking about: the grand unveiling of One Bangkok, Bangkok’s latest world-class landmark, brought to life under the theme ‘The Heart of Bangkok’ and a celebration titled ‘Let Our Hearts Beat as One’. This historic event beautifully blended Thai and international culture and innovation, with over 500 artists, celebrities, and industry professionals gathering to witness and contribute to a night to remember on October 25th…”
The night’s splendour saw Mr. Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, Group Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Property Limited, serve as the visionary force behind the grand reveal. This achievement marks a new milestone in the legacy of Mr. Charoen and Khunying Wanna Sirivadhanabhakdi, whose aspirations have been to elevate Bangkok’s Rama IV Road as the central lifestyle hub, seamlessly intertwining community, creativity, and commerce. One Bangkok not only reflects the bright future of the city but also highlights an artful fusion of Thailand’s unique heritage with an international allure.
An opening moment that captivated the audience was the performance of the bespoke composition “The Heart of Bangkok” at the One Bangkok Forum. Composed by the talented Apisit Wongchoti and Witwisit Hiranyawongkul, the piece featured the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra alongside a choir of 80 voices, directed by National Artist Sutheesak Pakdeetaewa. Complemented by animated visuals portraying Bangkok’s evolution from past to present, the performance was an evocative tribute to the city’s identity.
The ambience was further elevated by the appearances of Thailand’s top superstars, including Bright-Vachirawit, Aff-Taksaorn, and JJ-Kritsanapoom, among others. Musical highlights included a heart-stirring rendition of “Birds of a Feather” by PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn, as well as international performances by Loren Allred and Calum Scott, who each took the stage, creating mesmerising moments for the audience.
Adding yet another layer of brilliance, Auditoire, one of the creative teams behind the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony, curated a four-act performance at One Bangkok Park. Each act was meticulously designed to showcase Thailand’s rich cultural heritage while paying homage to its bright future, as follows:
The Blessing of Golden Land
An inaugural act that celebrated the grandeur of One Bangkok, located at the heart of Thailand’s “Golden Land,” blending the beauty of traditional Thai artistry with modernity. Inspired by the elegance of 'Lai Rod Nam' – a refined and exquisite Thai decorative craft – this act set the tone for the evening with an ode to Thailand’s craftsmanship.
The Beauties Unveiled
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant morning light and the delightful afternoon warmth of One Bangkok, this segment harmoniously paired world-class performance with the architectural beauty of the project, reflecting the complex interplay of grace and design.
Twilight Symphony
Inspired by the twilight of One Bangkok, the act seamlessly integrated modern Thai entertainment and international elements, celebrating a re-imagined take on Thai traditions with a contemporary flair.
Grand Finale
The evening closed with a breathtaking homage to the night sky over One Bangkok, as starlit scenery and a heartfelt melody filled the air. With a cast and crew of over 500, the performance encapsulated the night’s emotions, enhanced by spectacular special effects.
The official debut of One Bangkok marks the beginning of an extraordinary lifestyle destination, one that is designed to offer an all-encompassing, world-class experience. Bringing together over 750 prestigious boutiques, 250 renowned restaurants from around the globe, and a two-kilometre-long Art Loop, which integrates art and culture across the project, One Bangkok is setting the stage for a complete and unparalleled lifestyle. Also set to open soon is The Wireless House, alongside the Ritz-Carlton, which will begin welcoming guests in November, followed by other luxury hotels such as Andaz One Bangkok and Fraser Suites Bangkok, both anticipated to launch in the coming year.
