“…The StandardX continues its bold global expansion, making its grand foray into Asia with a new flagship in Bangkok. Branded ‘The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit,’ this culturally refined hotel marks the second location for the brand following its initial launch in Melbourne last August. The Bangkok property is poised for a magnificent unveiling on 15 November 2024…”
What sets The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit apart lies in its captivating design, interweaving Bangkok’s rich cultural heritage with The StandardX’s signature character. The hotel introduces 62 exquisitely decorated rooms, along with a rotating art gallery and distinctive dining options, offering a truly transformative experience for each guest.
Delving into the concept behind The StandardX, the brand has been crafted with a mission to push the boundaries of traditional hotels, presenting thoughtfully minimalist rooms that remain rich in detail and uniquely curated cultural activities, ensuring guests an inspiring and rare experience like no other.
The design of The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit is the result of a creative collaboration between Standard International and Studio Freehand. Each of the hotel’s 62 rooms has been designed across four types: Cozy King, Cozy Twin, King on the River, and the spacious King of Kings, with sizes ranging from 30 to 46 square metres. Each room design skilfully marries the spirit of Bangkok with The StandardX’s distinct comfort and modern sensibilities.
A particular highlight of The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit is the ‘10 10 Art Space,’ showcasing rotating exhibitions alongside a permanent collection from renowned local artists such as Gongkan and MRKREME. These artists have been entrusted with the task of creating distinctive works that bring the hotel’s architectural exterior to life, creating a vivid street and riverside impression. Additionally, the hotel introduces an artist-in-residence programme, fostering emerging talent with workshops and creative events designed to cultivate a meaningful exchange between guests and the local community.
The hotel’s dining offerings are just as distinguished. BANG, a Thai restaurant located on the hotel’s ground floor, reinterprets beloved traditional dishes with local ingredients, while The Box offers artisanal crafts, snacks, and fine coffee sourced from sustainable growers in Nan Province through a partnership with local farmers. Meanwhile, on the sixth floor, guests can revel in the stylish ambience of The Roof, a rooftop bar inspired by Mexico’s lively flavours, with scenic river views and a poolside atmosphere that offers a perfect backdrop for memorable evenings.
