“…Omega continues its long-standing partnership as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games, a role it has held since 1932. To commemorate Paris 2024, Omega has unveiled a special edition timepiece, the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition…”

Many may not realise that Omega has been the official timekeeper for both the Olympic Games since 1932 and the Paralympic Games since 2002. This marks Omega's 31st timekeeping duty at the Olympics, culminating in the creation of this special edition watch.

The design of this timepiece draws inspiration from a classic OMEGA wristwatch from 1939. This clever design choice not only pays homage to the brand's earliest years of timekeeping but also establishes a distinctive identity for this watch, effortlessly. To celebrate the Olympic Games, the 'Clous de Paris' pattern at the centre of the dial, crafted by French artisans, symbolizes true refinement and elegance.

The meticulous detail continues with a circular brushed pattern on the minute track and a small second sundial track at 6 o’clock, while the dark grey OMEGA logo is rendered in a vintage style. Additionally, the 'BG 859' code and the Olympic Paris 2024 medallion pattern are engraved on the case back, made from Omega's exclusive Bronze Gold alloy, enriched with noble elements such as 37.5% gold, hallmarked as 9K, as well as palladium and silver. A sublime and one-of-a-kind creation that gives this watch its distinctive look.

The Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition incorporates these legendary materials in a 39mm case crafted in OMEGA’s exclusive Bronze Gold, a radiant dial made from Ag 925 silver, and slender hands in 18K Sedna™ Gold with a special PVD Bronze Gold coating. The watch is completed with a brown calf leather strap and a sandblasted Bronze Gold pin buckle, adorned with a polished vintage-style OMEGA logo, also found on the crown.

However, aesthetic beauty alone does not explain Omega’s long tenure as the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games for over nine decades. This status is upheld by the impeccable functionality and precision timekeeping Omega provides. The special edition watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926, the manual-winding movement inspired by the historical 30T2 movement. Owners of this timepiece receive a certificate verifying that their watch has passed the stringent Master Chronometer tests set by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). This certificate is presented in a special box created for this edition.
