"...Louis Vuitton begins 2025 with a spectacular celebration of over two decades of collaboration with the renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. This collaboration, which first commenced in 2003, gave rise to iconic creations featuring Murakami’s signature bright and cheerful smiling flowers..."

Following the grand opening of LV The Place Bangkok last year, it is anticipated that this store serves as the stage for this extraordinary exhibition. Visitors will embark on an immersive journey starting with Trunkscape, a display that showcases the meticulous craftsmanship synonymous with the brand. Here, 96 Courrier trunks are arranged into a mesmerising arched tunnel, symbolising the legendary designs' strength and lightweight elegance. The space is further enlivened by vibrant animations presenting Murakami’s emblematic patterns, including Monogram Multicolore, Superflat Panda, Cherry Blossom, and Onion Head. These elements perfectly encapsulate the creative synergy between the Japanese artist and Louis Vuitton.

The journey continues with Visionary Journeys, an exhibition that captures the enchanting essence of special collections blending traditional artisanal skills with cutting-edge technology. Seven meticulously curated creations are showcased, including the Eye Love Monogram Speedy (2003), Monogram Multicolore mini HL (2003), Onion Head Monogram Briefcase (2003), Monogram Cherry Blossom Papillon (2003), Monogram Cerise Speedy (2005), Monogram Multicolore Franges (2006), and Monogram Multicolore Courtney (2009).

The exhibition concludes with Superflat Animation, an audiovisual masterpiece celebrating this special occasion. Visitors are treated to remastered animations from the Superflat Monogram (2003) and Superflat First Love (2009) series. These works tell the tale of Aya, a young girl journeying through a fantastical world with charming characters like Panda and Flower Hat Man. Reflecting Murakami’s deep admiration for Japanese animation, these pieces seamlessly blend timeless elements of Alice in Wonderland with the boundless creativity of Louis Vuitton, providing a perfect finale to this remarkable journey.

This collaboration is not merely an extraordinary beginning for Louis Vuitton this year but also a significant cultural and artistic milestone of the 21st century. Those eager to be part of this unique experience can visit the Louis Vuitton x Murakami Takeover exhibition at LV The Place Bangkok, Gaysorn Village, from now until 30 April 2025.
