"...The design of this monumental art installation is meant to honour the accomplishments and evoke the visionary spirit of Cini Boeri, a legendary figure who passed away over a decade ago..."

To mark the remarkable journeys spanning over a century of both Cini Boeri and Loro Piana, the brand often hailed as the "King of Cashmere" in the fashion realm delivers a breathtaking art installation with meticulous curation, under the title "A Tribute to Cini Boeri," showcasing at Cortile della Seta, the current headquarters of Loro Piana in Milan.

The exhibition in this instance was designed with reference to the historical archive of Cini Boeri, known as the Archivio Cini Boeri, reflecting Boeri's philosophy of architectural design. It presents spaces in the form of 'houses' that are brilliantly partitioned. Moreover, the central area of the venue for the installation has been adorned with furniture from the Strips collection of the brand. These spaces are interconnected by walkways, allowing visitors to experience the superior level of design of other works by any form of touching. The entire experience was created to align with the designer's belief that "furniture should respond to users' needs, facilitate modification, and provide flexibility in adapting to personal preferences.”

Furthermore, stemming from research, exploration, and understanding of the spatial differences in each area, this exhibition is rich in the sciences and arts of arrangement, presented with unparalleled sophistication. Through a variety of iconic models by Loro Piana, such as the Strips furniture collection featuring a modular system, or the armchair models Pecorelle, Bobo, and Boborelax, as well as the dining chairs and lounge chairs of the Botolo series, each piece has been adorned with exquisite textiles, a hallmark of Loro Piana Interiors' craftsmanship.

Whether it's the Botolo chair crafted from Cashfur fabric, a blend of cashmere and special-coloured silk fibres, produced in a limited edition of just 100 pieces, or the modular sofa from the Strips collection enveloped in Cashmere Raw fabric woven from pure cashmere fibres. The Strips bed and Boborelax armchair, made from Tiepolo animal hair fabric, stand out with their exceptional flexibility and outstanding durability, and many more.

Nevertheless, this marvellous exhibition would not have been possible without the support of Arflex, a company that provided valuable materials from their special collection to Loro Piana Interiors for this occasion. Additionally, the assistance of the Archivio Cini Boeri, founded by Giulia and Antonio Boeri, in gathering historical artefacts dating back to 2023, played a crucial role. Their dedication to facilitating the study, understanding, and creative processes of architectural design throughout various eras has been instrumental.

Those interested can admire the extravagance of "A Tribute To Cini Boeri" at 33 Via della Moscova, the headquarters of Loro Piana in Milan, Italy, from April 16th to 21st, 2024.
