The journey to success commenced in 2014 with the launch of the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Manual, which, drawing inspiration from the vaulted ceiling of the Basilica of Maxentius in the Roman Forum, featured a streamlined case with trimmed corners and minimised lines. Under the guidance of Fabrizio Buonamassa, Bulgari's Artistic Director of Watches, a sleek form with 110 facets was created. This remarkable timepiece showcased the world’s thinnest hand-wound flying tourbillon, measuring an astonishing 1.95mm thick, resulting in a case that was just 5mm thick.
This groundbreaking achievement paved the way for subsequent remarkable editions, culminating in the latest release, the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, which breaks all previous records with its remarkable thickness of just 1.70mm. Beyond its impressive specifications, the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC exemplifies a harmonious blend of elegance and strength. It distinguishes itself by offering a choice of case materials, available in both titanium and platinum, ensuring that style and functionality coexist seamlessly in this modern masterpiece.

Furthermore, the watch incorporates contemporary technology, featuring a miniaturised Datamatrix code that provides an interactive user experience, along with a bespoke case designed for automated winding and adjustment. Limited to just 20 pieces in titanium and an additional 20 pieces in platinum, this exceptional timepiece not only redefines the art of watchmaking but also reinforces Bulgari’s legacy of celebrating extraordinary craftsmanship and innovation in the world of haute horlogerie.
