"...When ancient techniques are reinterpreted and presented through contemporary fashion pieces, COS, a stylish Swedish fashion brand that has won hearts worldwide with its design, style, and reliable quality, introduces a limited edition collection in collaboration with artist Kazuki Tabata. Known for his exceptional Shibori tie-dye creations, this skilled artisan brings the wonders of this traditional Japanese technique to a global audience..."
The highlight of this collection is undoubtedly the blend of traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The collection features 14 pieces, encompassing women's and men's clothing as well as various accessories. The artist, Kazuki Tabata, has incorporated his skills in tying, folding, and dyeing into COS's garment structures, resulting in a captivating collection that harmoniously combines texture and traditional beauty.
COS also elevates the uniqueness of the designs by creating pieces that can be worn in multiple layers, adding an interesting dimension to the collection. Each piece is infused with a summer vibe, using soft blue, orange, and brown tones to convey this story alongside its design.
Furthermore, the collection features special techniques such as Sekka-Shibori, used to dye delicate silk scarves, and Tesuji-Shibori, emphasising the importance of sustainable materials like TENCEL™ Lyocell. These techniques highlight the brand's commitment to innovation while preserving the timeless charm of long-standing cultural traditions.
This special collection is now available for those interested at the COS boutique in the EmQuartier.
