Her son is at the heart of Cindy's journey, providing the unwavering support and motivation she needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship as a single mother. “During the first decade of building my brand, the challenges were monumental, especially as a woman in this industry,” she shares. “But knowing that I am his world fuels my determination to overcome every obstacle.”
In 2010, the renowned Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., selected Annual Butterfly Brooch, the real masterpiece from her Black Label collection, for a prestigious permanent exhibition. In 2021, the French Ministry of Culture made history by awarding Cindy Chao, the first Asian female jewellery designer, the prestigious title of "Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres". This award not only recognises her remarkable accomplishments but also cements her reputation as a highly respected artist in the world of fine jewellery design.
2024 marks a significant milestone for the brand, as CINDY CHAO The Art Jewel celebrates two decades of exquisite craftsmanship and artistic brilliance with the launch of the "20th Anniversary Collection." This collection will showcase pieces that are not only of immense value but also worthy of being exhibited in museums.
This exceptional collection features the legendary "Leaf Brooch" and "Dragonfly Brooch," each symbolising the evolution of Cindy Chao's artistry and dedication over the past two decades. The Leaf Brooch captures the beauty of nature and the passage of time, while the Dragonfly Brooch reflects Chao's unwavering spirit, portraying her journey through challenges. Just as the dragonfly symbolises grace and resilience, so too has Chao soared through adversity.
