The ‘Alhambra’ collection was created in 1968, inspired by the magnificent palace and fortress located in the city of Granada in the Andalusia region of Spain. This palace is renowned for its stunning architecture and decoration. The jewellery in this collection is distinguished by its four-leaf clover motif, assembled into pieces, and named after the decorative patterns found within the palace. The Alhambra collection has gained popularity as a ‘lucky charm’ due to the symbolic meaning of the four-leaf clover motif. It has continually evolved in terms of design, material choices, and the sizes of the motifs. This year, the collection is even more special, featuring the dimensional depth of yellow gold engraved with ‘guilloché’ sunburst patterns, combined with the radiant blue agate on the Sweet Alhambra wristwatch and the Vintage Alhambra ring with a reversible setting. Additionally, there is a pendant and a pair of earrings, all adorned with vibrant blue agate, making these pieces exquisitely beautiful and truly worthy of being treasured.
Additionally, the collection has brought the art of wearing jewellery into everyday life through its beautiful pieces that cater to every desire. In 2023, the brand introduced a new style of the ‘Vintage Alhambra’ ring, featuring a reversible setting. This playful innovation continues Maison’s tradition of creating jewellery that allows for versatile wear. A notable feature of this ring is its reversible head, which pairs a yellow gold motif engraved with sunburst patterns and set with a single diamond on one side with another motif on the reverse side, showcasing vibrant blue agate. The design maintains the collection’s signature detail of beaded edges, encapsulating its distinctive design elements.
Another exquisite piece in this prestigious collection is the wristwatch, which began production in 1998 and has undergone continuous refinement and evolution. This has led to the creation of new timepieces such as the ‘Sweet Alhambra’, featuring a design that alternates between yellow gold motifs engraved with guilloché sunburst patterns and vibrant blue agate motifs. This interplay of colours results in a dazzling visual effect. The creation process involves fifteen meticulous steps, including rigorous selection of gemstones, careful matching of precious materials, and precise setting of stones on the case. The expertise extends to the installation of the movement within the watch’s case and the assembly of the dial, culminating in this model’s final presentation. Each motif is carefully arranged by skilled jewellers between beaded borders on a prong setting. The delicate metal lines are then carefully bent to secure the gemstones firmly and securely. Finally, a polishing process is carried out to enhance the watch's radiant shine.
