Every springtime, we can expect Apple to introduce a new colour to its iPhone lineup – and this year, we are treated to the yellow iPhone 14 and 14 plus

This March, Apple brings sunshine to its latest iPhone products. Introducing the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus with a bright and eye-catching yellow, it is bringing the pop back in a line of springtime colour launches since the Red.

Yellow is the latest member in the iPhone springtime colour launch lineup.

But it’s not all about a new shade, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus now come with improved battery life (the longest battery life of any iPhone ever) and a durable Ceramic Shield front cover. The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus feature a durable aerospace-grade aluminium design that is water- and dust-resistant.

The new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are already available to pre-order since March 10 with availability starting March 14.

“People love their iPhone and rely on it every day for all that they do, and now there’s an exciting addition to the lineup with a new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The extraordinary battery life, lightweight design, pro-level camera and video features, groundbreaking safety capabilities, and all iOS 16 has to offer, make iPhone 14 a great option for anyone in the market for a new iPhone.”

Durability and improved long-lasting battery life

Its Ceramic Shield front cover is said to be tougher than any other smartphone glass. An updated internal design provides better-sustained performance, which is great for heavy workloads and high-powered gaming while improving the ease and affordability of repairs.

Both models feature a Super Retina XDR display with OLED technology that supports 1200 nits of peak HDR brightness, along with support for Dolby Vision.

Powerful Dual-Camera System for that action shot

With the advanced dual-camera system at your disposal, the system in the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus features a new pro-level Main camera with a larger sensor for stunning photos and videos. Coupled with their Ultra Wide camera to capture unique perspectives, both iPhones include the new front TrueDepth camera that automatically focuses on multiple subjects at different distances for sharper close-ups and beautiful group selfies. The larger aperture captures brighter colour and finer detail in low-light scenes.

The iPhone 14’s Photonic Engine improves mid- to low-light performance for photos and allows for the preservation of subtle textures. This means better colours while maintaining more information in a photo. In Video, Action mode enables smooth-looking video that adjusts to significant shakes and motion – even when a video is being captured in the middle of the action, while Cinematic mode supports 4K at 30 fps and 4K at 24 fps, enabling a depth-of-field effect that automatically changes focus in a simple and intuitive way to capture cinema-style moments.

Powered by A15 Bionic with 5-core GPU and iOS16

The 5-core GPU enables faster speeds for demanding workloads and even smoother graphics for video apps and high-performance gaming. A15 Bionic also powers camera features like Photonic Engine, Action mode, and Cinematic mode.

iOS 16 features the biggest update ever to the Lock Screen, with a multilayered effect that artfully sets subjects of photos in front of the time, widgets that offer information at a glance, and a new wallpaper gallery for inspiration. Browsing in Safari gets even safer with passkeys, a next-generation credential that can’t be phished or leaked. Live Text adds the ability to interact with text in video, quickly convert currency, and translate text. Users can also tap and hold on to the subject of an image to lift it from the background and place it in apps like Messages.
