Lady Gaga is known for having some of the most iconic outfits at award shows and fashion events, and from her many musical performances. These beautiful, unconventional, avant-garde outfits are legendary in the fashion world. The creative team behind her iconic style is The Haus of Gaga. They have created such looks as the notorious meat dress which Gaga wore to the 2010 MTV Music Awards and the supernatural egg that Gaga entered the 53rd Grammy Awards in.
A mini-museum is now open to pay homage to the amazing outfits that Gaga has worn throughout her many public appearances and musical performances, called Haus of Gaga Las Vegas. The museum is located in Las Vegas at the Park MGM, while Lady Gaga is performing her residency, Enigma, at the theatre.
Gaga Vegas Instagram account explained that this Haus of Gaga / Las Vegas exhibit is “an evolving space that will transport visitors through the history and vision of Haus of Gaga, featuring exclusive merch and memorabilia.” The exhibit is curated by Nicola Formichetti, who is the artistic director for the fashion label Diesel and has been working with Gaga on her eccentric outfits throughout her career. Formichetti stated that the vision they had for the museum was to be “a space that will visually immerse fans into Lady Gaga’s most iconic moments that will leave them in awe.”
A number of pieces that are being displayed in the museum are being auctioned off, and all of the proceeds will go to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. They have “about 20 outfits, [and] over 40 wigs and accessories and shoes and everything” in the museum. The outfits and accessories are displayed in glass cases with bright colourful lights, bringing these unforgettable Gaga fashion moments back to life.
Gaga’s outfits have had the power to define her career as a performer, and Haus of Gaga Las Vegas is allowing the public to relive those remarkable, indelible moments.
