Roger Dubuis announced last year its partnerships with both racing tire maker Pirelli and Lamborghini Squadra Corse and at this year’s SIHH, we’re seeing more of what these two creative collaborations brings.
The brand draws many parallels with both Pirelli and Lamborghini Squadra Corse, from the same flair for disruptive designs to their superlative technical engineering. This year’s novelties in the Excalibur line are given new colourful iterations.
The Excalibur Aventador S is available in two new versions in blue and in rose gold. The limited edition timepieces, (the blue is limited to eight and the pink gold to 88), is powered by the revamped 312-part RD103SQ movement, which is inspired by the Lamborghini’s engine strut bars, and is propelled by the Duotor (double balance wheel) concept.
The Excalibur Spider Skeleton Automatic Pirelli in sleek black titanium is also launched with a choice of deep blue or pristine white accents. The model is equipped with the calibre 820SQ, and comes with fluted titanium black DLC skeletonised bezel and a white or blue rubber crown to match the stitching on the strap. The strap is another talking point. It features rubber inlays from certified Pirelli winning tyres that have competed in real races.
Watch our video for a feel for Roger Dubuis’ incredible racing DNA and how they expertly combine the Pirelli and Lamborghini heritage into their own watchmaking.
