Regent HK: The dining destination by the harbour to check out

Oct 15, 2024

David Ho checks out the F&B specials offered at Regent Hong Kong

It's been a year since Regent Hong Kong's grand return to the harbour. Besides winning a slew of accolades as a hospitality hotspot, the hotel has emerged as a dining destination to watch out for.

Later this month, there will be a couple of specials to look forward to. Those with a sweet tooth will no doubt be delighted to hear that The Lobby Lounge at Regent Hong Kong is offering an exclusive afternoon tea experience featuring selected desserts and a bespoke cake crafted by Meilleur Ouvrier de France Chocolatier (Best Craftsman Chocolatier of France) Nicolas Cloiseau, from La Maison du Chocolat.

From October 24 to November 30, Cloiseau will be gracing Hong Kong with his first visit in a decade. The afternoon tea will combine his artistry with the culinary talent of The Lobby Lounge Head Chef Rajiv Chowdhoory and Regent Hong Kong’s Executive Pastry Chef Andy Yeung.

Against the breathtaking backdrop of Victoria Harbour, guests can tuck into treats like Choux Chocolat, RouleĢ Citron Noisette, Marron Cassis Tartlet, Classic Scones, Cacao Madeleines, Cauliflower Wild Mushroom Tiramisu, and even Finger Sandwiches for a bit of a savoury touch. Guests can complement their tea set with a signature chocolate beverage or choose from a selection of premium teas and freshly brewed coffee. For those seeking an additional treat, the Chocolate Martini is a rich blend of vodka, chocolate liqueur, espresso and dark chocolate.

This special collaboration with La Maison du Chocolat starts at HK$888 for two persons and HK$488 for one person, subject to a 10 percent service charge.

That's not all though. Nobu Hong Kong at Regent Hong Kong is celebrating two major milestones this October: the first anniversary of its return to Hong Kong and the 30th Anniversary of Nobu restaurants.

So to celebrate these milestones, Nobu Hong Kong will present a series of exclusive Omakase dinner menus throughout the month.

First up is the Nobu Hong Kong first anniversary Omakase, available from now to October 29. This seven-course tasting menu (HK$1,888 + 10 percent service charge per person) features both Nobu classics and new creations, which blends Japanese culinary techniques with Peruvian ingredients in true Nobu style.

Then in celebration of 30 years since the opening of the first Nobu in New York, Nobu restaurants worldwide will feature a specially curated five-course menu during the week of October 7 to 13 (HK$1,088 + 10% service charge per person). Featuring dishes crafted by Nobu in the early years, the Omakase experience includes innovative flavours and signature classics in a tribute to Nobu’s past, present and future.

Finally, the Omakase Dinner Series will culminate with the highly anticipated return of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa himself from October 30 to 31, where the legendary chef will host a seven-course Omakase dinner for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience.

“I am excited to return to Nobu Hong Kong in October, as we celebrate both the restaurant’s first anniversary at Regent Hong Kong and 30 years since we opened the first Nobu in New York’s Tribeca. The global reach of Nobu cuisine is something I could have never imagined, and I look forward to sharing this special moment with our guests," he says. The exclusive “Nobu in Town” Omakase menu features Nobu-style Sashimi – Yonten Mori, A5 Wagyu Matsutake with seasonal mushroom sauce and for dessert, Strawberry Yuzu Parfait with Shiso Lychee Sorbet and more.

Reservations are now open for all of these culinary experiences. They can be made via the online booking platform on Regent Hong Kong's site.
