Qeelin: A Miracle Garden of fine jewellery unveiled in Shanghai
Apr 07, 2025
Shanghai’s Aman Yangyun recently became the stage for an extraordinary exhibition by Qeelin, the fine jewellery brand renowned for blending cultural heritage with contemporary design. The Miracle Garden exhibition offered visitors a journey through history, art and nature, reimagined through exquisite jewellery collections

The setting itself was steeped in history. Aman Yangyun, a meticulously restored Ming and Qing dynasty residence, provided the perfect backdrop for Qeelin’s creations. Guests were greeted by intricately carved Wulu lattice screens framing serene gardens. Suspended lanterns bathed the space in cinnabar-red light, creating an atmosphere of quiet sophistication and harmony.
A celebration of culture and craft

The event was graced by Qeelin’s global brand ambassadors: Liu Shishi, Lay Zhang and Yoona Lim. Their presence added glamour to an already dazzling display. Each ambassador highlighted the artistry and cultural significance embedded in Qeelin’s collections, drawing attention to the brand’s ability to honour tradition while embracing innovation.

The jewellery itself was a masterclass in storytelling through design. The Wulu Fairy collection, inspired by Dunhuang murals, depicts celestial dancers with yellow diamonds arranged to mimic flowing silk ribbons. The Wulu Shanshui collection paid homage to traditional Chinese landscape painting, using gemstones to evoke misty reflections reminiscent of Song Dynasty ink washes.

One of the standout pieces was the Wulu Diamond Lotus collection. This debut featured a revolutionary gourd-shaped diamond cut developed over ten years. Pink sapphires complemented the diamonds, creating a shimmering effect that mirrored classical landscape paintings.
Bridging past and present

Qeelin’s collections did more than showcase craftsmanship - they connected visitors to centuries-old traditions in fresh ways. The Wulu Yulin collection drew inspiration from the Yulin Caves in Gansu Province, arranging gemstones in concentric circles to reflect ancient artistry and modern aesthetics.

The King & Queen collection reinterpreted royal insignia with contemporary flair, while the Bamboo collection explored themes of balance and nature through delicate designs featuring butterflies and bamboo nodes.

Other collections celebrated movement and vitality. The Xi Xi collection captured the dynamic energy of lion dances with articulated designs that allowed for versatile styling. Meanwhile, the Qin Qin collection recreated the fluid motion of fish tails, embodying a philosophy of freedom and harmony with nature.
A timeless expression of beauty

Qeelin’s Miracle Garden was more than an exhibition - it was an immersive experience that bridged East and West, tradition and modernity. Dragons and phoenixes seemed to leap from temple walls into wearable art pieces, while landscapes transformed into jewellery that felt both timeless and contemporary.
Through its collections, Qeelin demonstrated how cultural heritage can find new life in modern design without losing its essence. Each piece told a story rooted in humanity’s enduring quest for beauty - a quest that continues to inspire across generations and geographies.
