One Bangkok set to transform urban living in Thailand
Nov 11, 2024
One Bangkok, a significant development in Thailand, opened its doors last month and is rapidly becoming the city's new landmark. This project represents a major investment of US$3.2 billion and aims to redefine urban living in the heart of Bangkok
Spanning 17 hectares, One Bangkok will feature five premium office towers, three luxury residential towers, and five hotels, including Thailand's first Ritz-Carlton and Andaz. The development will also house a vibrant retail space with three interconnected experiences: The Parade, The Storeys and Post 1928.
Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, Group CEO of Frasers Property Limited, stated, "One Bangkok embodies our vision for the future of Bangkok as a global hub for business, tourism and investment." He emphasised the project's role in reshaping urban living by integrating world-class facilities with sustainability.
The retail component will showcase over 250 dining options along a 1.5 km stretch called the 'Food Loop', offering everything from fine dining to street food. The district will also introduce Thailand's first "Mitsukoshi Depachika", a unique food hall concept featuring Japanese and international groceries.
Art plays a significant role in One Bangkok. The development will feature permanent public sculptures by renowned artists Anish Kapoor and Tony Cragg. Scott Duncan from Skidmore, Owings & Merrill noted, "We've crafted an ecosystem where nature is integral to the experience," highlighting the importance of green spaces within the urban environment.
Sustainability is at the core of One Bangkok's design. The project has achieved double Platinum certifications for WiredScore and SmartScore, making it the first real estate project in Thailand to reach this milestone. It also aims for LEED for Neighbourhood Development Platinum certification.
The sprawling premise promises to be more than just a commercial space; it seeks to create a community hub with over 20,000 square metres of flexible event spaces and lush greenery. The development aims to connect Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Park, enhancing air quality and promoting biodiversity.
The property already stands as a bold statement of innovation and sustainability in urban design since its recent opening, inviting residents and visitors alike to experience a new standard of living in one of Asia's most dynamic cities.
