Already gearing up for the winter olympics, Omega reveals the Seamaster Diver 300M “Beijing 2022”. After blowing everyone away with their Tokyo 2020 collection, the Swiss brand, never content, is upping their game, putting a creative twist on the classic Seamaster.
Beijing 2022 will mark 90 years since Omega first became an official timekeeper for the games and the watchmaker celebrates that bond with the Seamaster Diver 300M “Beijing 2022” Special Edition. The wave-engraved blue ceramic dial and date window nod to the sub-zero temperature that athletes will face in China’s frosty winter.
Speaking of the dial, a splash of color draws adds another subtle nods to the games. The Olympic rings’ red, green, yellow, blue, and black shades encircle the hour markers at 2, 4, 8, 10, and 12 o’clock respectively. In the dark, each ring’s center illuminates with Super LumiNova, as do the tips of the hour and minute markers.
The 42mm stainless steel case is framed by a grade-5 titanium bezel featuring a 60-minute diving scale in raised numbering. Flipping the watch over, collectors will appreciate another commemoration to the winter games with the emblem of Beijing 2022 and the Olympic rings engraved on a closed case back.
Just like their watches, Omega is always on time, so the newest addition to the Seamaster family will not be released until opening day of Beijing 2022. Until then, we will be counting down the seconds.
