During Paris Haute Couture Week, Mikimoto their latest high jewellery collection - The Bows - at Hôtel d'Évreux in Place Vendôme. As the name implies, the collection is inspired by ribbons, a motif that the Japanese jewellery house has returned to on many occasions.
A highlight from The Bows is a necklace that closely resembles a lace ribbon knitted with pearls and diamonds, then anchored with a mint color green tourmaline in the centre to complete the delicate and exquisite bow look. The bow can be worn frontward-facing or backwards depending on the wearer.
Another highlight is a piece inspired from haute couture gowns, the necklace is extended, allowing pearls to drape naturally over the shoulders, the elegant sleeves are then softly tied in to the collar by bows, the delicate touch to the design gives it a remarkable sense of individuality while clouding the wearer with an elegant aura.

For the event, Yeoh chose to wear a necklace made of Akoya cultured pearls knitted into a bow with an exquisite green tourmaline adorned in the center, and paired it with a stylish suit for a unique and glamorous look.
The Wicked actress also spoke at length about her connection to the brand and their design theme. “I am in love with the Mikimoto High Jewellery Collection. I think ribbons have always been part of, especially, girls' lives. We wear it in the hair, on the dress and everywhere and it's been a while that I've wanted to put it on me and today I have it around my neck, a very stunning creation. I think it is very nostalgic, but at the same time it brings back very good memories and I think that's what we all seek to do is to find moments of joy," she says.
"I remember my first Mikimoto pearl bracelet which was given to me by one of my best friends, Anita Mui, and so every piece of jewellery that I had has a very good and a very significant memory,” Yeoh added. Another necklace she had previously worn was showcased at the venue. Crafted from pearls and morganites, the light and airy ribbons intertwine with radiating color gems to present the allure of Rococo style jewellery and came with a matching set of earrings.
Other celebrities in attendance also chose stunning pieces to show up in and the guys showed that pearls are just as great on men as well. Mikimoto's global brand ambassador Song Weilong wore a brooch made with Akoya cultured pearls, Tanzanites, Blue Sapphires and Diamonds; singer Yuta Jinguji made his debut at a branded event in Paris in an all-black dapper suit that highlighted the soft luster of the white South Sea cultured pearls on the ribbon necklace designed with Akoya cultured pearls and diamonds; Alice in Borderland 2 actor Dori Sakurada went with an Akoya cultured pearls, Diamond and Tanzanite ribbon-designed necklace to give his edgy look a touch of softness; and popular Thai actor James Jirayu picked a lace-cut diamond brooch with a pink conch pearl.
