Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 is a classic fragrance that lingers not just in the air, but in the minds of many. It recently won the title of best women’s fragrance at #legend’s Beauty Awards 2025

For crystal maker Baccarat’s 250th anniversary in 2014, Maison Francis Kurkdjian created the Baccarat Rouge 540 fragrance in just a limited batch of 250 numbered bottles.

It has since become a staple of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s fragrance lineup as an eau de parfum, extrait de parfum and a rich variety of scented rituals. The perfume’s radiant saffron is underscored by airy Egyptian jasmine facets and mineral notes of Ambroxan that evoke ambergris, while red cedar give it a spicy and fiery tone.

Speaking of fiery, the fragrance bottle is reminiscent of Baccarat’s iconic scarlet-red crystal. The intense fragrance was inspired by the fusion process of the red crystal, which is the result of clear crystal gradually fusing with 24-karat gold powder at 540 degrees Celsius (1,004°F) and turning bright red. The bottle reflects the inspiration with its dazzling red colour and golden details that recall the crystal’s fusion process.

Baccarat Rouge 540 itself evokes the density and transparency of crystal around its three inherent breaths: the mineral breath, the breath of fire, and the breath of know-how. This woody yet floral scent is perfect for the modern woman in any setting.
