Lee Hye-ri, better known as Hyeri, was in Macao for a fan meet recently. She also made time to explore the attractions and experience its charms

On June 22, Hyeri made a stop at Broadway Macao for as part of her first-ever solo fan meet tour Welcome to Hyeri’s Studio. Before she left, Hyeri made time to fully see the city and its hot spots.

Macao is renowned for its glitzy hotels and entertainment that attract people from all over. But there is more to the city than that and Hyeri made sure she went on a journey to experience its magic.

Macao is a place where East meets West, so its cuisine features influences from both sides. Hyeri made a stop at Clube Militar de Macao, otherwise known as the Macao Military Club Restaurant. Built in 1870 for the use of military officers, the restaurant is a historical site that is now the modern spot for a journey through time via the tastebuds.

For dessert, Macao’s most famous sweet treat would be their famed Portuguese egg tarts. Hyeri had the right idea when she went for a one-on-one workshop with a Portuguese master chef to learn the secret behind making the baked goods at Pastéis de Chaves Macao. Pedro Almeida, the bakery master there, made sure to show her the technique and tricks to make the perfect tart with a creamy filling and flaky pastry base.

Sated with her meal and treat, Hyeri was down for a stroll. The singer-actress went on a leisurely and memorable walk through old Macao in Rua dos Ervanários. The area’s Chinese name is taken from the customs services that used to managed Macao’s foreign trade.

Fast forward to today, Rua dos Ervanários has become a unique old street that houses traditional local industries, such as sellers of incense, antiques, and more. Besides cultural and creatives shops, it has also become a hub for specialty cafés so you can get your caffeine fix here. The area is also known for hosting cultural-creative activities and flea markets that make it a must-stop for tourists.

Wandering through the colourful and historical streets, the visit made for a perfect end to Hyeri’s visit to Macao, marking it as an experience to remember for both her and her fans.
