Liquides Imaginaires invites us into a sensory world suspended between reality and dream
Historically, perfume, derived from the Latin “per fumum” meaning “through smoke,” served as a medium to communicate with the divine. Founded in 2011 by creative director Philippe Di Méo, Liquides Imaginaires resurrects this profound symbolism, bewitching and transporting their wearers on a voyage of introspection.
This creative philosophy gives each fragrance a strong narrative dimension. The latest release, Âme de Fleur, tells the story of the flower of the soul. Inspired by anemone – a bloom believed in Greek mythology to spring from the tears of Aphrodite – it symbolises desire, transformation and eternal love. Built around luminous white florals, the fragrance opens with rose crystal, green pear and maté, creating a fresh, radiant clarity. At its heart, tuberose and jasmine unfold into a soft yet tension-filled floral accord, before settling into a warm, grounding base of cashmere wood, Ambrox and Clearwood, leaving behind a gentle, comforting trail.
Among the brand’s signature creations, Blanche Bête and Dom Rosa stand as two defining olfactory pillars of Liquides Imaginaires. Blanche Bête draws inspiration from the mythical unicorn, blending milk, musk, cocoa and vanilla to evoke an atmosphere that hovers between purity and sensuality. Soft, enveloping and delicately sweet without being cloying, it appeals to those who prefer understated complexity and emotional depth.
Dom Rosa, in contrast, centres on champagne and rose, offering a bright, rhythmic composition. Sparkling, effervescent top notes give way to Damask rose and woody undertones that capture the light, land and air of French vineyards, creating an elegant and quietly intoxicating composition.
