#monochromemagic
Black and white is seasonless, timeless and ageless. Pairing solids together – as actress Renci Yeung does here – will always be a reliable recipe for chic, cool style. But it doesn’t have to be boring. The allure of the combo is in its versatility. Mix patterns – florals, stripes, polka dots, houndstooth – for added visual interest. Layer different shades of the same colour in various textures for a uniform look that doesn’t lack dimension. Or, play up the black-and- white pairing with pieces that combine the two for you.
#tonsurton
There is no easier way to appear effortlessly stylish than with tonal dressing. From summer brights to polished black and winter white, the key is to keep the eye intrigued by, for example, switching up textures or playing up the silhouette. While the idea is dressing head-to-toe in the same colour, this doesn’t necessarily need to be throughout the entire look. Counterbalance bolder colours with neutrals or a white T to pull the look together. Or break up the monochrome with a bag, belt or pair of shoes in a contrasting shade.
