We ask some of our #legend100hk folks on what being in a position of influence means to them

“To me, influence is a privilege, a chance to share life as it really is: the wins, the challenges and everything in between. I began my social media account to document my journey of living abroad and building a business as a small-town expat, hoping that my experiences might offer insight and inspire others to take risks, trust themselves and pursue the life they dream of. If I can show even one person that it’s possible to achieve anything they put their mind to, then I’m happy.” – Elin Fu @always.elin

“Influence to me means someone who inspired me in some way to make a lasting impact on who I am now. Everyone has a story, and I hope that my story can also inspire others to instil a higher standard in whatever craft they’re in pursuit of. I’m a huge proponent of education as I come from a family of educators; it’s in my blood.” – Jonathan Jay Lee @jonathanjaylee

“To me, influence means having the privilege to help society think, flow, grow and/or reshape itself in a deeper and more meaningful way. It’s easy to influence from a superficial and materialistic standpoint, but I hope that I can influence those around me on a deeper level: to be a kind and thoughtful person, to be brave and try new things, to be patient, to read and become educated on a variety of topics, to help the world in small ways. I’m all about micro habits for macro shifts.” – Megan Nixon @emmegann

“I believe to inf luence is to tell stories, be they personal or that of people around me, so feelings and thoughts can be heard, seen and shared. I wish to tell stories through my artwork and the content I create, to inspire and encourage others to find inspiration and fun in the littlest things in life.” – Samantha Cheung @woodnink
