Prints and patterns can be daunting for many. For first-timers, follow banker-turned-content creator Jessie Li’s lead and start small and neutral, like her black satin co-ord accented with a minimal rose print. If girly florals aren’t your vibe, her favourite print – stripes – are a good alternative. Thicker and louder are the operative words this spring/summer 2023 and this striped maxi dress rendered in fluoro shades from Christopher John Rogers checks all the boxes. Team it with heels of a matching colour and top it with a black cropped jacket for extra warmth and formality.

Brights are a major trend this season. Even more is clashing your colours, which can be as subtle as, for example, pairing a navy piece with light-grey neutrals, or as striking as Mexican-Japanese model Kenta Sakurai has demonstrated with his casual blue and yellow combo. And since February marks the season of love, why not style a rosy-hued cardigan over a T-shirt of a complementary colour like green? Accentuate the contrast with basic black bottoms in a relaxed silhouette and sneakers to complete the look.
