#legend100does: April 2022

We’ve asked our community for the hottest events they’ve marked down in their diaries this month.
Be it art, food or entertainment, our plugged-in friends know what’s most happening

David Wong @ifeelcool

“I can’t wait to be able to go out and watch movies again! Once theatres reopen, I definitely recommend
immersing yourself in the world of cinema at the amazing art-house-feel Golden Scene Cinema in Kennedy Town.
For those looking for something even more artsy, you could check out Woaw Gallery in Central. I’ve heard
so many great things but I still haven’t had a chance to visit. I’ll surely pay a visit once things reopen!
Spring is all about denim blue so I also recommend visiting American Vintage for the most comfortable,
cotton-candy soft denim looks.”

“Though in-person dining is shut from 6pm onwards, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy good food in the comfort of
our homes. For those craving Japanese, get your yakitori fix from Yardbird. We’re now offering delivery and I would
recommend our whole charcoal-grilled chicken meal that comes with sides and sauces – perfect for the entire family! Or, treat yourself to some home-akase and hand roll sets from Rōnin. We have everything you need to DIY
your favourite bite – from premium seasonal sashimi to sushi rice and even Nomad Caviar!”

“I’m looking forward to going to M+ and West Kowloon to just enjoy the sun, tan on the grass and explore all the
great art. I’ll also be visiting Po Toi Islands, also known as the South Pole of Hong Kong – it’s just a fun and cute
getaway to disconnect. Dining-wise I recommend Basehall. I’ll definitely be going for some amazing South Asian food once the restrictions ease – a night out with the girlfriends!”

Ellie Furuya @furellie

“I’ll be launching a new eco-luxe spring collection for my swimwear brand, Rii Swim, so that’s going to be exciting!
I also recommend this new sushi-ya in Central by Kenichi Fujimoto called Sushi Fujimoto. The sushi I had was excellent – I felt like I was transported back to Japan! The first abalone dish, which included abalone two ways
and freshly made shari (sushi rice) dipped in abalone liver sauce, was a really strong start to the omakase. My
favourites were the baby snapper with its characteristic tender bite and the melt-in-mouth tuna from Chiba.”

“I just launched my own jewellery brand, Sae Jewellery, last month and the first collection is called Wish Maker
as I hope to remind everyone to stay wishful in times of adversity and that everything is possible with positivity!
I also started cooking much more since the pandemic started and I’ve been trying out a lot of different recipes!
The Western Wholesale Food Market is awesome for grocery shopping since everything is cheaper at wholesale!”

“With the fifth wave and the lockdown happening, I’m trying to explore nature more. Glamping has always been
on my list and this is the perfect weather for it. Park Nature at Kam Tin has this amazing Galaxy Caravan for rent –
you can see a sky full of stars at night! I’m also planning to explore the hiking trails next to my home, which leads all the way to Monkey Mountain and Shing Mun Reservoir. They’re right next to where I live but I’ve never gotten the chance to explore them. I guess now is the time!”
