What: 12th Chanel Métiers d’Art show
When: December 1, 2015
Where: Cinecittà Studios, Rome
Paris took on Rome for a night on December 1 in a creative spectacle aptly named Métiers d’Art, where the worlds of film, fashion, art and music were indistinguishable from one another at the hands of visionary Karl Lagerfeld. Taking over the Italian capital’s iconic Cinecittà Studios, A-listers from the worlds of fashion and film – such as Kristen Stewart, Zhou Xun, Geraldine Chaplin and Mariacarla Boscono – sipped cocktails while wandering the film sets of Roma Antica. They proceeded to an open-air cinema to view Lagerfeld’s short film Once and Forever (starring Stewart as a young Coco Chanel). And then onto the main event, which saw models emerging from the steps of Rome Metro Station in Paris on a moody black-and-white film set. Wearing velvet coats over silk cigarette trousers and bitonal mules and sandals, the 1960s Parisian dream world was recreated – while feathered gowns and patent leather pencil skirts hinted at Italian cinematic glamour. The set came alive in another way after the show, when DJ Paolo di Nola and the Pachanga Boys brought the party back to the future.
