With the second part of Wednesday Season 2 finally here, all eyes are not just on the eerie twists of Nevermore Academy but also on its leading lady’s wardrobe off-screen. Aimee Yan has a closer look at Jenna Ortega’s press tour outfits

Jenna Ortega has mastered the art of translating Wednesday Addams’ gothic allure into a series of show-stopping press tour looks that feel both theatrical and fresh. From London to Seoul to New York, her fashion choices reveal a deliberate play on darkness, texture, and silhouette, a lesson in how to channel gothic ethereal chic without slipping into costume.

At the global premiere in London, Ortega stunned in a reimagined Ashi Studio Fall 2025 couture piece. On the runway, the ensemble was a full-length, spine-laced gown, but for the red carpet it was transformed into a shorter, asymmetrical silhouette. Sculpted from milky yellow latex with a snakeskin-like finish, the corset top and mermaid skirt hybrid evoked both sensuality and eerie fragility. Raw, uneven edges contrasted the garment’s architectural bodice, while its translucent sheen amplified the tension between elegance and decay. It was couture at its most daring — gothic beauty refracted through avant-garde craftsmanship.

For Seoul’s photo call, Ortega turned to Dilara Findikoglu FW25. The fitted black dress, with its reptilian texture and sculpted lines, leaned into gothic edge with striking simplicity. The dress proved its versatility that is simultaneously commanding and experimental. The sharp tailoring allowed Ortega’s presence to dominate, also with her brow-less smoky eye makeup, showing how gothic style doesn’t always need theatrical drama; sometimes restraint is the boldest move.

Still in Seoul, Ortega softened her darkness with Simone Rocha SS25. Pairing a whimsical printed top with either a silky tulle skirt and silver chain belt, she embodied Rocha’s signature tension between innocence and shadow. Silver necklace and silver glasses grounded the look in urban cool and echoing the belt on waist. Here, Jenna revealed another facet of her gothic persona, playful and artistic.

At London’s Natural History Museum, Ortega embraced drama with Sarah Burton’s Givenchy Fall/ Winter 2025 collection. The exaggerated puff sleeves of a cropped black top paired with a sleek pencil skirt created a silhouette that was equal parts powerful and sculptural. Gloves and black platform heels elevated the couture severity, while the pared-down styling let the architecture of the garments speak. The all-black ensemble is elevated by the oversized gold bangles, their details harmonizing to perfect the look with effortless sophistication.

Closing her press circuit in New York, Ortega offered two takes on Ann Demeulemeester AW25. First, a flowing asymmetrical dress with raw hems and layered textures, it exuded rebellious modernism.

Then, wears a tailored grey suit with flared trousers and dramatic sleeves revealed her range: still moody, but now sharpened with avant-garde tailoring. She balanced romance against edge, a nod to the poetic heart of gothic fashion.

Across cities and stages, Ortega’s press tour wardrobe felt like a visual continuation of Wednesday’s spirit. Each designer amplified a different facet of gothic femininity: fragility, power, playfulness, or romance and more.

What ties them together is Ortega’s ability to embody them all without losing her own voice. Gothic fashion, in her hands, is no longer just about black dresses and heavy boots; it’s about finding beauty in the shadows and making darkness dazzling.
