Siu Yea Lo – or better known as Lo Chun Yip in the Hong Kong’s film industry – is recognised for his work as an actor, director, and cinematographer. A graduate of the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong, he embarked on his cinematic journey with a focus on independent film production. His debut documentary, Days After n Coming (2012), reflects his engagement with local social movements, marking a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. Lo has garnered attention for his compelling performances, notably in the film Time Still Turns the Pages (2023), where he portrays Mr Cheng, a teacher grappling with personal and professional turmoil amid a narrative steeped in themes of guilt and redemption. His ability to convey deep emotional resonance has been highlighted by critics, establishing him as a significant figure in contemporary Hong Kong cinema. In addition to his acting career, Lo is a co-founder of Tonikaku Pictures and actively contributes to educational initiatives, leading documentary workshops that inspire the next generation of filmmakers. His artistic pursuits extend beyond traditional filmmaking, as he explores installations, writing, and other media, seeking innovative avenues for expression and growth in the arts.
